Roti Canai Craving

A week of scramble eggs breakfast can give you a massive craving for roti canai.
But first I had to wait for her to get up (complaining about what a perfect morning it is to sleep in), take a shower and get ready.
Then we had to drive half an hour in the morning traffic to reach our destination, Kayu Nasi Kandar.

But when the roti canai came, it was flawed.  As if a rat took a bite out of it (bottom part of the picture).

Nevertheless, in my opinion, Kayu still serves one of the best roti canai this part of town.

For my Malaysian friends in Australia, close your eyes and imagine.  Don’t fret, I eat another piece on your behalf. :P

I want my chap fan

One thing Malaysia beats Australia hands down is food.  Every day eating this is ok but still…..  I want my nasi lemak, roti canai with thick dal & sambal, bak kut teh, dim sum, chee cheong fun and even chap fan. :P

Da bomb puffs

I tell ya.  These curry chicken puffs from Berry’s cake house are just da bomb!  You have to get em when it’s just fresh out of the oven.  Accompanied with a cuppa kopi peng.  Really mou kiok!

Would I lie to ya?  I went out of my way just to post about em.  And I’m even using words like ‘ya’, ‘da’ and ‘em’.

RM2.99 Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast at a small healthy organic food café. I don't see how nasi
lemak can be considered healthy.

RM2.99 only but can still make good profit. How much is nasi lemak
bungkus? RM1? The organic coffee, which by the way taste like it's
been mixed together with grass, probably comes in those 3 in 1
sachets. So that's probably another 50 cents, maybe less.

Doesn't make up for waking up early on a cold and rainy morning.

Teh C Special

Ever since I moved out, I've been hanging out often with my partner.  Unlike before, he knows I now no longer have committments like getting home to have dinner with the kids or picking them up from day care.  Occasionally I'm needed but most of the time, I've been issued a 'Stay the hell away' warning by their mother. :P

Hanging out with my partner does have it's advantages.  Like opening my eyes to Tea C Special in KL!

I thought it was only available in East Malaysia and didn't know we had this in KL until today.  It was quite good.  Although I'm sure East Malaysians will say it doesn't come close to what they have over there.

Jalan-jalan cari makan

One thing that my partner and his wife have in common is their love
for food. Their weekend activities bound to include jalan-jalan cari
makan. They just love to drive to places that they have never been
just to try out something, some dish someone brought up during
conversation.

Someone said 'Cheras got this place with great crab fried mee hoon'
and the launch sequence in my partner's head is initiated. He asked
for general directions, called his wife and eveything is set into
motion. This time with me tagging along.

We picked up his wife and here we are now. If you asked me where this
is, I can only answer Cheras. Will I be able to find this place
again? Most probably not.

But for my partner and his wife, they are already talking about some
duck rice in Sri Kembangan. Another fun filled activity for their
weekend.

An innocent horse killed

Sometimes you just feel so hungry that you could eat a horse.
When you reach the restaurant with your hunger intact, you immediately
order a whole horse.
But with just the mushroom soup, garlic bread and five cheese balls,
you're already full.
An innocent horse had to be killed just because of you.
